1、How Does a Timer-Based Pulse Controller Work?

The Timer-Based Pulse Controller uses a timed cyclic cleaning mode. During operation, it sequentially outputs multiple control signals according to the preset pulse duration and cleaning interval, triggering the pulse solenoid valves one by one.

When a solenoid valve opens, compressed air is released to generate a high-pressure airflow that reverse-cleans the surface of the filter cartridges or filter bags, removing accumulated dust and contaminants. After each pulse, the solenoid valve automatically resets, and the controller continues the programmed cleaning cycle to help maintain filter permeability and stable operating resistance of the dust collector.

2、How Many Pulse Solenoid Valves Can One Controller Control?

There is no fixed number of pulse solenoid valves that one controller can control. The capacity mainly depends on the controller model and the number of output channels.

We offer multiple configurations with 4, 8, 12, 20, and 30 output channels. Each channel can independently control one pulse solenoid valve, while certain configurations support two solenoid valves per channel.

When selecting a controller, the required number of output channels should be determined according to the overall dust collector configuration, including the number of filter cartridges or filter bags and the total number of connected pulse solenoid valves.

3、What Is the Difference Between Timer-Based and Differential Pressure-Based Cleaning?

The main difference is how the cleaning cycle is triggered and the operating conditions each method is designed for.

Timer-based cleaning follows a fixed programmed schedule and automatically performs the cleaning cycle according to preset time intervals. It offers straightforward setup and stable operation, making it suitable for dust collection systems with relatively stable dust loading and limited process fluctuations.

Differential pressure-based cleaning uses real-time monitoring of the pressure difference across the filter media. Cleaning is automatically triggered when the differential pressure reaches the preset threshold, allowing the cleaning cycle to respond to changes in filter loading. This approach is suitable for applications with significant variations in dust loading and filter resistance and can help reduce unnecessary compressed-air consumption.

4、Can the Controller Save Parameters After Power Failure?

Yes. The controller is equipped with non-volatile memory to retain the configured parameters. Preset values such as pulse duration, pulse interval, and number of output channels are retained after a power failure, so the controller can resume operation using the saved settings when power is restored.

5、Can the Controller Output Be Connected to 220V Pulse Solenoid Valves?

Yes, provided that the controller output voltage matches the input voltage of the pulse solenoid valve. DC 24V is commonly used for pulse solenoid valve control, while certain controller configurations support 220V AC output.

Before connection, confirm that the controller output voltage and the solenoid valve input voltage are compatible with each other.

6、Introduction to Common Functions of Time Pulse Controllers

Pulse Width: The duration of the driving voltage supplied to the solenoid pulse valve, i.e. how long the solenoid valve opens to blow compressed air. Too short → insufficient cleaning force; too long → waste of compressed air and accelerated diaphragm wear. Normally set at tens of milliseconds.

Pulse Interval: The time interval between successive firing of two adjacent pulse valves. It prevents simultaneous blowing which would cause sudden air pressure drop and ensures stable blowing force for each valve.

Cycle Interval: The idle waiting time after all pulse valves complete one full blowing cycle before starting the next cycle. This parameter mainly controls the cleaning frequency under timing mode.

Lift-Pulse Interval: The delay time between the signal to the lift valve and the activation of the pulse valve. Used for off-line cleaning; it reserves time to isolate the compartment first before blowing, preventing re-entrainment of dust and guaranteeing cleaning performance.

Compartment Interval: The waiting time between cleaning operations of different compartments in off-line cleaning mode. It allows dust in one compartment to settle fully before switching to the next compartment and avoids airflow interference between compartments.

Off-line Cleaning: Isolated compartment cleaning mode. When cleaning, the lift valve of the target compartment closes first to separate this compartment from the main airflow, then pulse blowing starts. The lift valve reopens after dust settlement. Suitable for high-concentration and sticky dust conditions for thorough cleaning.

Number of Pulse Valves: Total quantity of solenoid pulse valves connected to the controller. The controller outputs blowing signals sequentially according to this setting.

RS485 Interface: This data interface adopts Modbus-RTU protocol, baud rate 9600, no parity check. It supports communication with HMI, PLC, host computer and IoT modules for remote differential pressure reading, parameter adjustment and status monitoring.

1、Important Notes

1、Before installation, confirm that the controller power supply and output voltage are compatible with the specifications of the pulse solenoid valves.

2、Set the pulse duration and cleaning interval according to the actual dust loading and operating conditions.

2、 Daily Operation & Maintenance

The controller is a low-maintenance device with simple daily maintenance requirements, helping reduce the risk of faults and extend its service life.

Check Controller Operating Condition
Regularly clean dust accumulated on the surface of the controller and around the ventilation openings. Excessive dust buildup may restrict heat dissipation and cause overheating and premature aging of the control board.

Check Cleaning Parameters
When the dust load or operating conditions change, adjust the pulse duration and cleaning interval according to the actual application requirements.

3、Installation Requirements

Secure Installation
Securely install the controller to prevent vibration from loosening the wiring. During wiring, clearly separate the power cables from the output signal cables, keep high-voltage and low-voltage wiring separated, and provide appropriate insulation protection after wiring is completed. Proper electrical installation and grounding are important for dust collector control equipment.

Installation Location
Install the controller away from devices that generate strong electromagnetic interference, such as variable-frequency drives and high-power motors, to help prevent inaccurate timing, signal interference, or unintended solenoid valve operation. The controller is recommended to be installed inside a dry, well-ventilated electrical control cabinet with minimal dust accumulation.
